1. Not medical advice

The content provided on the EPINUTRI platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, data, reports, assessments, recommendations, educational materials and information generated by our digital tools and AI-assisted features, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing on this platform should be construed as, or used as a substitute for, professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The information provided does not constitute the practice of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dietetics or any other regulated healthcare profession.

EPINUTRI is a digital health and nutrition platform designed to support functional nutrition practitioners and their clients. The platform provides tools for health assessments, lifestyle tracking, nutritional analysis and practitioner-client communication. These tools are intended to complement, not replace, the professional judgement of qualified healthcare providers.

You should never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read, seen or received through the EPINUTRI platform. If you have any concerns about your health, you should always consult a qualified medical professional.

2. No doctor-patient relationship

Your use of the EPINUTRI platform does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-patient or any other healthcare provider-patient relationship between you and Codenutri Ltd (trading as EPINUTRI).

Codenutri Ltd is a technology company that provides a digital platform connecting users with independent nutrition practitioners. We do not provide medical services, clinical advice or healthcare directly. We do not employ, supervise or direct the clinical practice of the practitioners who use our platform.

Any relationship you form with a practitioner through the EPINUTRI platform is a direct relationship between you and that practitioner. The terms of that relationship, including the scope of services, professional duties and confidentiality obligations, are governed by the practitioner's own professional standards, terms of engagement and applicable regulatory requirements.

Codenutri Ltd does not verify, endorse or guarantee the accuracy, suitability or safety of any advice, recommendation or care plan provided by practitioners using the platform. You should satisfy yourself as to the qualifications, experience and professional registration of any practitioner before engaging their services.

3. Supplements are not medicines

Food supplements and nutritional products available through the EPINUTRI dispensary are regulated as foods under UK and EU food law, including the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 and the retained EU Food Supplements Directive (2002/46/EC). They are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) regulates medicines in the United Kingdom. Food supplements fall outside the scope of medicines regulation unless they make medicinal claims or contain ingredients classified as medicinal products. Nothing on the EPINUTRI platform should be interpreted as making a medicinal claim about any food supplement.

Health claims made about food supplements on the EPINUTRI platform are limited to those authorised under Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims (as retained in UK law), or are general, non-specific references to overall health and wellbeing that do not refer to specific diseases or conditions.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any food supplement. If you experience any adverse reaction to a supplement, discontinue use immediately and seek medical advice.

For full details about supplement purchases, please refer to our Dispensary Terms and Conditions.

4. Practitioner independence

Practitioners who use the EPINUTRI platform operate as independent professionals. They are not employees, agents or representatives of Codenutri Ltd. Each practitioner is independently responsible for:

  • Their own professional qualifications, registrations and continuing professional development
  • The clinical assessments, recommendations and care plans they provide to their clients
  • Ensuring that their practice complies with all applicable laws, professional standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining appropriate professional indemnity insurance
  • Obtaining informed consent from their clients for any services or interventions
  • Making appropriate referrals to medical professionals when clinical presentations fall outside their scope of practice

Codenutri Ltd provides the technology platform and associated tools. We do not control, direct or supervise the clinical judgement or professional conduct of any practitioner. Any complaint about a practitioner's conduct should be directed to the practitioner in the first instance, and if necessary to their relevant professional body or regulatory authority.

Whilst we take reasonable steps to verify the credentials of practitioners who register on our platform, we do not guarantee the accuracy of the information they provide to us about their qualifications or experience. You should independently verify a practitioner's credentials before engaging their services.

5. Emergency situations

The EPINUTRI platform is not designed for use in medical emergencies. If you believe you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, stop using this platform and take immediate action.

In an emergency, contact these services immediately:

  • 999 -- Emergency Services
Call 999 for life-threatening emergencies, including chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, suspected stroke, severe allergic reactions and drug overdose. Ambulance, fire and police.
  • NHS 111 -- Urgent but Non-Emergency
Call 111 when you need medical help fast but it is not a life-threatening emergency. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can also visit 111.nhs.uk online.
  • Samaritans -- 116 123
Free to call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Confidential emotional support for anyone in distress or despair, including those experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide. You can also email jo@samaritans.org.
  • SHOUT -- Text "SHOUT" to 85258
Free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support for anyone in crisis. Trained volunteers provide support via text for those who are anxious, stressed, depressed, suicidal or overwhelmed and need immediate help.

Do not rely on the EPINUTRI platform, or any digital service, in a medical emergency. Digital platforms can experience technical issues, connectivity problems and delays that make them unsuitable for emergency situations.

If you or someone near you is at immediate risk of harm, call 999 or go to your nearest Accident and Emergency (A&E) department without delay. Do not wait for a response from any online service, app or practitioner.

The EPINUTRI platform includes automated safety features that detect potential emergency situations in user communications and provide appropriate guidance to contact emergency services. These features are a safety net only and are not a substitute for your own judgement. Always err on the side of caution and contact emergency services if you are in any doubt.

6. Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Codenutri Ltd, its directors, employees, agents and affiliates shall not be liable for any loss, injury, claim, liability or damage of any kind arising from or in any way connected with:

  • Your use of, or reliance on, any information, content, recommendations or materials provided through the EPINUTRI platform
  • Any errors, omissions, inaccuracies or outdated information in the content provided on the platform
  • Any advice, recommendations, assessments or care plans provided by practitioners using the platform
  • Any food supplements or nutritional products purchased through the EPINUTRI dispensary, including any adverse reactions, interactions or side effects
  • Any delay or failure to seek appropriate medical advice or treatment
  • The unavailability, interruption, malfunction or error of the platform or any of its features

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

This disclaimer does not affect any legal rights you may have as a consumer. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

7. Consult your doctor

We strongly encourage all users of the EPINUTRI platform to maintain an ongoing relationship with their registered GP (general practitioner) or other qualified medical professional. In particular, you should consult your doctor:

  • Before starting any new diet, nutrition programme, exercise regime or supplement regimen
  • Before making any changes to prescribed medication or medical treatment
  • If you develop any new symptoms, or if existing symptoms worsen or change
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant
  • If you have a diagnosed medical condition, chronic illness or are receiving treatment from a medical specialist
  • If you are taking any prescribed or over-the-counter medication, as there may be interactions with food supplements or dietary changes
  • If you experience any unexpected or adverse effects from any dietary changes, supplements or recommendations received through the platform

Functional nutrition and lifestyle interventions can be a valuable complement to conventional medical care, but they are not a replacement for it. The EPINUTRI platform is designed to work alongside, not instead of, your relationship with your doctor and other healthcare professionals.

Your health is your responsibility. Whilst the EPINUTRI platform and its associated practitioners aim to provide helpful, evidence-informed information and support, the ultimate responsibility for decisions about your health and wellbeing rests with you, in consultation with your qualified healthcare providers.
